THIS GUY IS SELLING ONE OF THE BEST BIRYANI IN OLD DELHIAbu Sufiyan
There are few experiences in life that contribute more to personal happiness than eating delicious food. Of course, old Delhi’s happiness is not measured on food alone; we spread happiness that is why we are “Dilwale”. However, on this occasion of Shab-e-barat we, pdwkb’s team went to our local market of Jama Masjid to observe people and to take a look at what people are eating on this evening. We found completely packed shops and of different flavours with veg and non-veg.
As we were discussing about what food is best in the market, we saw an aged man with beard and a cap on his head selling Biryani with his self made covered cart.
Unfortunately, this old man was sitting quietly with his cart. Everyone who walking by watching him and nobody buying his Biryani. We were attracted by his cart and went to ask him about this. He smiled as soon as we reach there and asked us to taste some biryani from his copper Degh. We had enough food already but we did not deny as he requested us with love and compassion. He gave us a plate of chicken biryani with chutney and chat masala that stunned as we taste that.
We never tested this kind of food before. We had a small talk with him while eating about this as how he made this. While talking to him we noticed that he has beautiful eyes which was describing his honesty and loyalty towards his work.
He said “Ama Jaao Miyan!” when we were paying eventhough he was selling biryani in just rupees 100/- a kilogram.
Salute to Mohammad Rafiq a purani diliilwala!
You may spot him near Meena Bazar with his compact self engineered cart which has enough space for chutney, disposable plates, Degh, & dustbin.
