About The Event:

Explore the enchanting narrative of Humayun’s Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage site that has borne witness to the grand tapestry of history. Beyond its architectural magnificence, this site unfolds the gripping saga of empires. In 1857, during this fateful week, it became a pivotal stage for the Last Mughal, Bahadur Shah Zafar, a turning point etched in history.

Considered a precursor to the Taj Mahal, this monument was born out of love, a testament to the devotion of a queen, dedicated to her husband, Humayun. Delve into a 400-year journey encompassing Humayun's era, Sher Shah's reign, and the enigmatic burial of Dara Shukoh after his tragic assassination orchestrated by Aurangzeb.

Please note: Arrive 15 minutes before the walk. The walk will commence promptly at 9:00 am. Once started, it may be challenging to assist latecomers, and the walk operator is not responsible for any inconvenience due to delays.

About Qissa Go: Lehar Zaidi

Lehar Zaidi is an Epidemiologist and freelance journalist, holding MS and MPH graduate degrees, educated in the USA and Delhi. She has contributed to publications such as the Indian Express, Columbia University's 'Story South Asia,' Stanford Arts Review, and the Hindustan Times, among others. She was a finalist for the Jaipur Literature Festival writing competition 2020, for her articles on global geopolitics and the relevance of 'Akbar and Dara Shukoh.’ Lehar, born and raised in Delhi near Humayun’s Tomb, is the founder of the heritage cultural group "Sanjhi VIrasat." Her interests encompass Delhi’s syncretic heritage, human rights, Hindustani literature, and the environment.

The foundation has grown bigger and better over time with the involvement of Delhi residents in this endeavour, aiming to bring the best of the city to you. Purani Dilli Walo Ki Baatein has been in operation for eight years and is trademarked under Abu Sufiyan and Managed by Tech Charmers. They have expertise in the Arts, Cuisine, Culture, Dialect, Lifestyle, Music, Heritage, and History of Old Delhi, and their passion for learning and exploring this enchanting city is unending.

Guidelines:

- The per-head registration cost of the heritage walk is Rs. 600 (excluding GST).

- As it's a walking tour, guests are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes.

- Arrive at the departure point 15 minutes prior to the reporting time.

- Please note that locations are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.

- Your ticket is confirmed once you book the walk on Razorpay; no additional confirmation will be sent via email.

- Tours are subject to weather conditions and will be rescheduled if necessary.

- If you plan to bring your kid(s) on the walk, please inform us beforehand. There's a 50% registration fee for children between 12-15 years of age.

- The tour route is in public areas over which we have no control. We are not responsible and shall not be held liable for the behaviour of the public, other tour patrons, or any accidents during the tour.
